CSD Special Education PTSO Events

Parent Support Group: A safe and confidential place for parents to talk about what is going on in their lives. Guided by Tori Watrous, M. Ed., LMHC. Adults only please.

  • April 9th 7:00pm-8:00 pm: Emotionally Navigating IEPs / 504s
  • May 13th 6:00pm-7:30pm: TBD (Time Change!!)

Book Club: First meeting April 19th 12:00 pm Washougal Coffee Co. 1700 Main St #130, Washougal

Do you like to read and want to make some new friends? We are starting a book club in March. Read the book and then we meet in person to discuss. Our first book will be The Housemaid by Freida McFadden. If you’re interested, email Stacy at stacy@camasptso.org for more details.

Camas Plant and Garden Fair: Find our booth downtown Camas. Saturday, May 11th 9am – 4pm

We will be selling cookies and other goods at our booth to raise money for the PTSO. This money directly funds our End of the Year Party. Sign up HERE to help!

Micah’s Miles Meet Up: May 19th. Inclusive 2.62 running, walking or rolling experience. Frenchman’s Bar Regional Park, Northwest Lower River Road, Vancouver. Registration fee $45.

End of the Year Party: May 30th 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm at Lacamas Lake Elementary 4825 North Shore Blvd, Camas.

This is the biggest event we have all year and you wont want to miss it! We will have Columbia Play Project, Kona Ice, Camas first responders, face paint, quiet stations, Bluey, community resource booth, food and drink and more.

*This is a FREE event and open TO ALL AGES AND ABILITIES. RSVP HERE!

CSD Special Education PTSO sensory station at Camtown Youth Festival: June 1st 11:00 am – 4:00 pm. Dorothy Fox Elementary.

Inflatable games, food, entertainment, craft activities, petting zoo, open play activities, adaptive play area, kids’ flea market and youth information vendors.

*We need your help at our sensory station. To volunteer on the day of the event sign up HERE.

All-Student Wellness ProgramHear about upcoming events hosted by the Camas School District, featured resources such as transitioning to different levels of school, and links to watch, listen to, and read to help you and your family survive…and thrive!

Community Events

Spring into History First Friday & Student-Led Asian Culture Fair:

April 5th 5pm – 8pm Start at the DCA Tables at Journey Church

Celebrate Asian dance, art, music, food & more at the student run Downtown Camas Asian Culture Fair at April First Friday! This event within an event will be the culmination of the hard work and dedication from Camas High School Senior Fiona Zou, who has chosen to work with the DCA for her Senior Project to make this event a reality for the community!

Camas Library Events

  • Preschool Sprout Houses-April 11th 3:30pm to 4:15pm at the Camas Library-Join us as we plant seeds in sponge houses. Take them home and watch them grow!-Age Group: Pre-Kindergarten
  • Kids’ Kitchen-April 22nd 5:30pm – 6:30pm through the Camas Library-Kids’ Kitchen is a virtual cooking club just for kids! For April’s recipe, we’re making lettuce wraps. This recipe uses the stovetop.-For 1st-5th grades. Registration required to receive the zoom link and recipe.
  • Family Bingo Night-April 19th 5pm – 6:30pm

Spotlight

RIPPLE: Wellness For All

Welcome to a whole new kind of wellness center! Ripple Wellness is a hub for health and wellness in our community, providing a space where people can receive a multidisciplinary approach to a wide variety of conditions. We combine natural and holistic treatment services with ongoing classes and events on topics like movement, mindfulness and self-care to help us stay connected and on the path of wellness together.

Our services include acupuncture, massage, naturopathic medicine, nutrition, mental health counseling and private yoga and breathwork sessions. We are in network with most major insurance carriers, call us for details!

Lifestyle for Mood and Attention

Depression, anxiety, and inattention may be natural physiological responses to chronic states of undernourishment, sleep deprivation, sedentary lifestyle, social disconnection, stress, and overstimulation. Dr. Kellie Moore, ND, shared information and strategies. SLIDES | Zoom Recording

Virtual Workshop – Food + Your Mood – What’s the Connection?

Join Emily Penn, a functional nutritionist, explored how our eating impacts our mood, stress and energy levels. She covered the basics of how food influences our feelings, and Emily provided actionable tips and small changes you can make to feel your best. These tips are suitable for all ages and can support focus, cognition, mental health, and memory – now and for the long haul. To access her recording, click here and enter passcode ip=1vjs.

  • Peace NWTheir mission is to enhance community for individuals of all abilities. On their website you can find resources, informational and fun events and get help. If you’re not sure where to find something, Peace NW will know where to go.
  • PavePAVE provides support, training, information and resources to empower and give voice to individuals, youth and families impacted by disabilities in Washington.
  • Camas School District Resource CenterThe FCRC seeks to offer a sense of community and an abundance of resources so we can fulfill our common goal as a school district for ALL students to thrive. If you need ANY type of support, this is a great place to check out!
